First date(s) shouldn't be called a date. It's tasting the water. It's confirming whether they look like the pictures. It's making sure the chances of them being a kitten kill*r to be at 0. It's a gut feeling moment.
Right? I've heard that with the initial chat you should only decide if it's worth taking it offline, the first meeting is to see if there will be a second, etc. I've also heard that walking rather than sitting opposite at a table would facilitate conversation. Waiting to hear if it's true.

Frustrating how clueless guys are about safety. "I'll just bring my extra sharp knives over." WTF!!! Here's an idea that people might pay for: write a list of dos and don'ts for first dates: Do not offer to bring your axe collection over, do not ask, "What do you weigh?" Do not post photos of yourself with your ex. on your dating profile. Do offer ideas of public places to meet, do post a photo that looks like you.
