I am going through a breakup myself. It's been a measly month and I am tired of feeling + crying. I also can't see past him cause who could be better? I just want everything to STOP!
"I can be both fine on my own and terribly lonely." This resonates so much! I love, love my single life in which I've grown so much post-divorce in my mid-thirties. But there's hardly a day that passes without me longing to be in a partnership again. Sending hugs 🤗
I was just about to write that our modern-day life structure is kinda made for couples, we don't have great examples (or the infrastructure!) for the kind of friendship where you live close to others and do things together such as going grocery together, or cooking and sharing some leftovers, borrowing a ladder from someone when you need it... these are silly examples, I know. It's quite early morning over here and I might be half asleep. So I almost didn't leave a comment at all because I am just (poorly) stating the obvious but the next article on my feed was legitimately perfect. I don't know if you follow Culture Study here on Substack but @annehelen has nailed it: https://open.substack.com/pub/annehelen/p/the-dark-heart-of-individualism?r=2puiwd&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
You're so lovely, and thank you for the beauty of your candidness. This isn't where you expected to be. I remember feeling weird about all the white space that opened up in my life where there had been plans. Biggest of hugs to you ❤️
Altough I'm not single anymore I do remember feeling what you expressed. I can't wait for you to find love again and write about love !! In the meantime, let's put that SPF on 😘
'My dating content does well, but I don’t want to write about dating. I want to be writing about love.' I get this - so true! All I can say is many of us have been exactly where you've been and found that love further down the line. Roll on P2YL: Part 2 Of Your (Love?) Life!

This was so beautifully written - thank you. I really get that sense of sadness x
